The Rock Center uses a time-tested method originated by animal communication pioneer Penelope
Smith who teaches: To talk with an animal, one must first recognize that animals are intelligent, sentient
beings with a spiritual essence. The technique is a soul-to-soul dialogue using thoughts. This forms a
partnership so that problem solving is done together. Because of the non-verbal way animals communicate, they
have difficulty expressing their pain to us. Examples of how animal communication can help: A dog named Casper
tells of infected gums, pain in the nose, and ear drainage; the vet diagnosed a carnasal abscess. Mr. B, a cat, tells
of sick kidneys and asks for treatment. Horses describe foot problems and poor saddle fit.
